Black Sabbath Tickets On Sale Today

Tickets for Black Sabbath intimate show in Birmingham later this month went on sale today.

The band are set to headline this summer's Download Festival along with The Prodigy and Metallica on June the 8th-10th. Their show at Birmingham's 02 Academy on May the 19th is to act as a warm up for the festival.

The 02 Academy show will be the metal legends' first since they reunited with their original line-up late last year, and could be a chance for the band to preview some of the new material they've spent the last nine months working on.

Sabbath guitarist, Tony Iommi, is still undergoing treatment for lymphoma and, as a result, won't be performing for a few of the band's summer tour dates. The shows that were scheduled for Europe have been replaced by 'Ozzy & Friends' gigs. These gigs will see frontman Ozzy Osbourne joined by special guests including former Guns N' Roses guitarist, Slash, Geezer Butler and Zakk Wylde.

You'll be glad to know that Iommi will in fact be playing the Download show, as well as the gig in Birmingham! However, there is still no confirmation on whether the band's estranged drummer, Bill ward, will be part of the show.
