NME Awards To Take Place Tonight

The 2012 NME Awards will take place tonight (February 29th) at London's O2 Academy Brixton.


The event is set to feature live performances from The Maccabees, Kasabian and The Vaccines, with a very special collaboration being performed by The Horrors and Florence And The Machine. Noel Gallagher (also playing live) has been selected to receive the Godlike Genius Award and Pulp, who will receive this year's Teenage Cancer Trust Outstanding Contribution To Music Award, are making their live comeback at the ceremony.


Among some of the artists nominated for awards tonight, are Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Hurts, Lana Del Rey, The Vaccines and Odd Future, with Arctic Monkeys going head to head with Kasabian, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Horrors and Muse for the Best British Band award. Breakthrough acts such as Lana Del Rey, Tribes, The Vaccines, WU LYF and Foster The People are all up for the Best New Band category.
