I remember many important musical events. I know where I was when Lennon died, when Live Aid rocked the world and when Wacko Jacko died from too much of his special milk, etc etc.

My first time at The Roundhouse and the first time I've seen Dallas Green under his moniker, City and Colour - I saw him in his post-harcore rock outfit, Alexisonfire, twice when they were together -and I just want to tell you all now, this was one of the best gigs i've ever been to.

Jane's Addiction has been a definitive force in the world of 'alternative rock' since their formation back in 1985. Helping pioneer and redefine scene that grew with fellow acts Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam and latterly the Foo Fighters, they rose to prominence with hard riffs and funk-laced beats.
Tonight I had to choose something to listen to whilst I cooked dinner, in a slightly sombre yet comfortable mood, Sonic Youth sprang to mind and after considering their commercial breakthough album Goo I eventually settled on Daydream Nation with which to partner by Red Wine and Chicken Creation. The irony being moments later it was brought to my attention that Daydream Nation turned 23 today.
What an epic night! And not just the performance... Friday night and The Joy Formidable played the HMV Forum (the venue formerly know as the Town and Country Club) in Kentish Town to a very nicely filled out house. The Band delivered a great set to an audience that I can't imagine had any complaints whatsoever.
