Profile: The Mouth Of Ghosts

Fusing alternative rock with spaced out trip-hop, The Mouth Of Ghosts take influences from Deftones, The Cure and Portishead to create their unique style fuelled by electronics and guitars.

Based in London, the band consist of Alla Seydalieva (vocals), Simon Langford (guitar), Marco Italia (bass), Phil Page (drums) and Valerie Deniz (vocals and synth). Having formed in 2011, and are currently unsigned, they've not been shy about releasing material independently.

When The Sun Sets is the debut 5-track EP from The Mouth Of Ghosts with songs packed with big choruses and strong female vocals.

Title track, When The Sun Sets, which was mixed by Ali Staton (Tricky, PJ Harvey, Lamb) features breathy vocals over an ethereal backdrop of reverberating guitars and shimmering percussion.

Patient has a slightly darker feel, the tempo has been pulled right back with unusual harmonies, soaring vocals and heavier guitar chords. Also included on the EP is Digital Bath, a Deftones cover, along with tracks World's End and Close, which deliver atmospheric verses and sinister but beautiful instrumentation.
