On The Radar 22/05/12

Tuesday's weekly selection of new tracks comprising this week's 'Staff Picks' from the Gigseen TV office ... New music featured from Jonathan Boulet, The Black Seeds, Dante Kinnunen, and Pryda.

Jonathan Boulet - This Song Is Called Ragged (selected by Grim) - Following Trounce appearing last month, This Song Is Called Ragged comes as the second single from Jonathan Boulet's forthcoming sophomore album We Keep The Beat, Found The Sound, See The Need, Start The Heart; out June 8th worldwide via Modular Recordings.

Dante Kinnunen - Next To You (selected by Kate) - Stockholm based Dante Kinnunen is mostly known as the youngest, drum-playing member of The Concretes; a popular Swedish indie pop band composed of eight members. But with his track, Next To You (a cover of American soul singer Clarence Carter's original), he's revealed an amazing voice (and style) of his own. This Soul-Pop record has some seriously chilled out vibes, perfect for a day lounging in the sun. Dante is certainly one of the most exciting new talents to emerge from the Stockholm music scene.

Pryda - Allein (selected by Matt) - Pryda is one of the many aliases of Swedish House producer Eric Prydz, who also goes by the names Cirez D, Sheridan, Dirty Funker, Moo, A and P Project, and Axer just to name a few. Allein is a perfect tune to compliment the soaring outside temperature and could well be one of the tracks of the Summer.

The Black Seeds - Dust And Dirt (selected by Grim) - The Black Seeds are a musical group from Wellington, New Zealand. Their music is a fusion of dub, funk, afrobeat and soul. Dust And Dirt is the title track from their seventh album, released last month and available in the UK via Bandcamp.
