Live Review: Ellwood, Electric River, My Third Leg

Once getting past the confusion of being told by the doorman that Electric Six were in fact playing on Thursday night, not Ellwood, then being directed instead after a heart-stopping moment up to the first floor O2 Islington Academy 2 venue, it was extremely easy to enjoy a night of ska-infused music.

VCMG - New Vince Clarke / Martin Gore Project

After 30 years working on their respective ongoing music projects, Vince Clarke (Erasure / Yazoo / Depeche Mode) and Martin L. Gore (Depeche Mode) come together for the first time since 1981 as VCMG to release a brand new album preceded by a series of EPs.

The Station Sessions: Tonight's Performance...

The second of four secret gigs as part of The Secret Sessions at St Pancras International station is due to take place this evening at 6pm, and I can now reveal that the two acts performing are: Rival Sons and Iman.

Profile: Penguin Prison

The title, 'New Band Showcase', may not be entirely true this week, but what the hell, I'm going to bend the rules a bit! Anyway, I'm going on the basis that for a lot of you, Penguin Prison is merely a glimmering, undiscovered jewel that lies in the murky depths of the stagnant waters that is the internet music-sphere.
