The second of four secret gigs as part of The Secret Sessions at St Pancras International station is due to take place this evening at 6pm, and I can now reveal that the two acts performing are: Rival Sons and Iman.
This evening, in aid of the homeless and housing charity, Shelter, commuters will be entertained by acoustic sets from these two fantastic acts.
L.A. Rockers, Rival sons, will be performing their high-octane mix of blues-infused hard rock during the busy rush hour period at St. Pancras station. Having previously opened for rock legends such as AC/DC and Alice Cooper, played shows with Kid Rock and recently supported the likes of Evanescence and the mighty Judas Priest, these guys definitely know what they're doing! Known as the 'unlikely saviors of American rock', the four-piece are now returning to the UK after a lengthy sell-out European tour to perform exclusively for Stations Sessions.
The band's full-length debut album, Pressure & Time was released back in June of this year receiving critical acclaim, and later charting at UK number one in Amazon's best sellers. Reaching 19 in the Billboard charts and equally so in Germany France Italy & the USA; Rival Sons couldn't have wished for a better acknowledgement for their music. The band are currently busy promoting their second single from the album, titled All Over The Road, which is available to buy now.
Supporting Rival Sons will be London based singer-songwriter, Iamn. Having previously collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Ed Sheeran, Jim Duguis (Paolo Nutini) and John Fortis (The Noisettes, Razorlight) this girl is on the path to real success. Currently working on her eagerly anticipated debut album, she hopes to release it in the new year.
So if you'd like to be a part of Station Sessions' special, and very beneficial Secret Season, get on down to the lower concourse at St. pancras station for 6pm tonight. The stage is set up just in front of the giant lego Christmas Tree - you won't miss it! And don't forget, the event is free of charge, but donations are encouraged and all proceeds go to the Shelter charity; a great cause, especially this time of year.
The Stations Sessions at St. pancras are happening for the next three Thursday evenings up until Christmas. But remember - it's all kept a secret until the day! So if you're a music lover, a commuter, or just want a chance to relax, get festive and appreciate an amazing atmosphere on your way home, take part in Station Sessions' Secret Season.
Check back here next week for details of next Thursday's performers. It's a good'un! For more information, you can go to the website, or visit the facebook page for photos, videos and more.
