Last night (July 31st) saw Blur drop by Maida Vale to play an very cosy show, with only a handful of competition winners being allowed entry, the show having only been announced two short weeks ago. The event was split-streamed by BBC 6Music and Radio 2.
With a good few highlights on the calendar for the band in the near future (another intimate competition gig at the 100 Club tomorrow, and a performance at the Olympic closing ceremony), Blur seemed to have 'put right' whatever problems hampered their appearance at the Brit Awards earlier this year - knocking out a fine set.
Drawing on the force of their back catalogue, the band also dropped in a few curveballs: performing 13-era track Caramel which has never been aired in a live setting, while 1993 B-side Young & Lonely was also placed into the set.
