Bruce Springsteen closed this year’s Isle Of Wight Festival with a typically mammoth set yesterday evening (June 24th).
Springsteen opened with the classic, Darkness On The Edge Of Town, Badlands, and also played a selection of tracks taken from his latest release, Wrecking Ball.
A crowd pleasing encore included favourites such as Born In The USA, Glory Days, Dancing In The Dark and the 1984 record’s title track, while the set was concluded with a spectacular fireworks display during a cover of Twist and Shout.
Before Bruce took to the stage, frontman, Noel Gallagher performed his first UK festival gig as a solo artist. With material from his debut solo record Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds played along side a handful of Oasis classics such as Little By Little and Don’t Look Back In Anger, the performance was brought to a rabble rousing finish.
