Sex Pistols Turn Down Olympics Ceremony

The Sex Pistols have reportedly spurned an offer to perform at the closing ceremony of London's Olympic Games this Summer.

A huge show is being put together by organisers keen to piece together a definitive history of British music titled A Symphony of British Music for the closing ceremony of the Summer Games on August 12th. However, Johnny Rotten and co. will not be a part after they turned down an approach from officials.

Reports have said that the decision was based more on financial, rather than moral, objections with all acts playing the show set to be paid a nominal fee of just £1. Despite losing out on a performance from The Pistols, they still have a "great line-up" and are keen to have the remaining members of The Clash perform London Calling instead. However, a spokesman for the Sex Pistols declined to comment on this.

Acts linked to A Symphony of British Music include Take That, Adele, Sir Paul McCartney,Elton John, the Rolling Stones and the The Spice Girls.
