Sir Paul McCartney's son, James, is launching his own music career and is following in his father's footsteps with a gig at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, where The Beatles made their name.
James has played on two of his father's albums and Sir Paul has co-produced his son's two EPs during sessions at Abbey Road Studios.
The 34-year-old's singer-songwriter will be playing two UK dates including Dublin and a historic set at Liverpool's Cavern Club (which is tonight!), before embarking on a US tour. James' London date took place last night at The Borderline.
James' new release, The Complete EP Collection, has earned praise from prestigious publications such as Rolling Stone magazine, and is the result of working on and off in the studio for over two years. James played most of the instruments, including bass, guitars, and piano—and of course, he sings.
"I really wanted to wait until I had the strongest possible collection of songs before introducing them to the world. I so believe in this music, and these songs. With the two digital EPs being released earlier this year and now this special two-disc set arriving, I'm right where I've hoped I would be."
You can catch James at the following dates:
- 3rd April - Cavern Club, Liverpool
- 4th April - Whelans, Dublin
