Featured Music: New Build

New Build are a new band from London featuring Al Doyle (Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem) Felix Martin (Hot Chip) and Tom Hopkins. They have just released their first album, Yesterday Was Lived And Lost, on their own imprint: Lanark Recordings.

The 12 track album is out now on digital and CD formats and the heavyweight vinyl is due for shipping in a few weeks time. The CD comes with two prints by the artists Bevis Martin and Charlie Youle, who have created the artwork for the release. The vinyl version features an exclusive bonus track.

The album comes the third release on New Build's own Lanark Recordings, and has been preceded by a pair of 12" pressings (Misery Loves Company and Do You Not Feel Loved?), both of which are also available via Bandcamp.

Yesterday Was Lived And Lost comes across as a certainly accomplished electropop debut, with tracks such as Behind The Shutter and Mercy injecting some more up-tempo dance beats that will more than likely find themselves remixed into dancefloor fillers in the near future.

New Build have just completed a short tour of the UK, concluding with an album-launch 'long-nighter' yesterday (Friday 9th) at London's Corsica Studios, and are set to then play a couple of dates in New York, before heading back for more shows across Europe over the remainder of March and April.
