Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist, John Frusciante, is set to miss his former band's induction into America's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame next month.
Frusciante was a member of the band between 1988 and 1992, and eventually quit after struggling to cope with the pressures of fame. He later returned in 1998. However, the guitarist has chosen not to join the Chili Peppers on stage at the April ceremony.
Drummer, Chad Smith, has recently commented on the news, and has said that himself and the band are fine about it.
"He didn't feel comfortable coming, which we totally respect. We asked him... He said, 'I'm just not really comfortable with that, but good luck and thanks for inviting me.' It was all good".
"He's the kind of guy, I think, that once he's finished with something he's just on to the next phase of his life. The Chili Peppers are not really on his radar right now."
Smith also revealed that other former members of the band would attend the event, honouring the band's 30 year career in music.
